Autumn has arrived, and like most of the other wives here, Diana is staying in Scotland for the season, and like most of the husbands, René is returning to the city. I cannot wait to get back to Paris. I so miss Camille.

1 October 1895

I am so in love with René. My love for him has breathed breath into each day I am beside him. Today we took a long walk through the rolling hills of Scotland. I could easily be persuaded to return here every year. We will be returning soon to Paris, and finally, René will be able to lay with me each night until Diana returns. I so look forward to feeling his strong arms around me as I sleep with my head on his chest.
